Accessibility statement

This statement records what has actually been tested, what has not, and where the site is known to fall short. It is deliberately narrower than a claim of conformance.

Conformance target

This site is built to target WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That is a target, not a certification. No formal audit has been commissioned, no accredited testing has been performed, and the site does not claim conformance.

What has been checked

  • Colour contrast. Text colours are defined once in the shared stylesheet and were chosen against measured contrast ratios: body text and headings exceed 4.5:1 on their backgrounds, and interface elements exceed 3:1. Contrast was calculated rather than estimated.
  • Keyboard operation. Every interactive element is a native link, button or form control, so the whole site is operable by keyboard. Nothing requires a pointing device.
  • Focus visibility. A visible focus indicator is applied globally, with a variant that stays visible against the dark header and footer.
  • No JavaScript dependency. The site loads no JavaScript at all. Navigation, the skip link and the contact form work with scripting disabled.
  • Structure and semantics. Pages use landmark elements, a single H1, ordered heading levels, breadcrumb navigation, and lists for grouped links.
  • Zoom and reflow. Layouts were checked at narrow widths, including a 320-pixel viewport, with no horizontal scrolling of the page body. Tables scroll inside their own container rather than forcing the page wide.
  • Reduced motion and print. Motion is limited to hover and focus transitions and is suppressed when the operating system requests reduced motion. A print stylesheet removes navigation and advertisement areas and expands link destinations.
  • Form labelling. The contact form uses an explicit label for every input, marks required fields in text as well as by attribute, and provides hint text tied to each field.
  • Error page. The 404 page is self-contained, so it renders correctly at any arbitrary missing address, and its links are root-relative so they resolve from any depth.

Known limitations

  • No screen-reader testing has been performed. The site has not been tested with NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver or TalkBack. Semantic markup and labelling were written to support those tools, but no assistive-technology test has confirmed the result.
  • No independent audit. All checks were carried out during the build. No third party has reviewed the site against WCAG.
  • Automated tooling was not run. No automated accessibility scanner was executed against a live deployment, so no automated score or pass rate can be quoted.
  • Advertisement placeholders. Reserved advertisement areas are visible, labelled blocks. If live advertising is introduced later, each creative would need checking for contrast, animation and keyboard traps — a requirement that is recorded but not yet applicable, since no advertising is live.
  • Contrast in print. The print stylesheet is set for black text on white for reliable printing, which is a legibility choice rather than a tested screen outcome.

Reporting an accessibility problem

If something on this site is difficult or impossible to use, please report it through the contact page. Naming the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using makes the problem reproducible and much quicker to fix. No response time is promised, because none has been agreed.

Statement prepared
19 September 2026.
Testing scope
Static review of markup and styles; contrast calculated from defined colour values; keyboard and reflow behaviour assessed from the code. No live deployment, assistive-technology or automated-tool testing.
Certification
None claimed. No accessibility certification or accreditation has been obtained.
